Temple of Wealth Review
Temple of Wealth is one of the progressive jackpot slots in Play'n Go's trio, which also includes Celebration of Wealth and Beast of Wealth. Still not sure why the developers provided three games with the same prizes to chance, though, we have to pay credit to them for giving a variety to choose from. Temple of Wealth doesn't significantly differ from its siblings for it as well comes with an Asian theme and features the same progressive jackpots, however, it's the bonus game that makes difference here, so let's take a look.
Temple of Wealth - Design and Symbols
Fans of the genre won't have anything to complain about here. Temple of Wealth comes with a traditional Asian look and as the title implies, the reels are set in the midst of a Chinese temple. The backdrop showcases its interior, to be more precise a gold-colored chamber with massive pillars spread all over the place. It's not the most eye-catching slot for sure, though, the graphics are decent and the game undoubtedly offers perfect aesthetics when it comes to the appearance and general ambiance. The atmosphere here is complemented by a traditional Chinese soundtrack that plays whilst you spin the reels, capturing the essential vibe and adding a final touch to it.
Temple-Of-WealthSame to other slots in the 'Wealth' series, the paytable offers a bunch of recognizable symbols that are commonly used in most of the Chinese culture-inspired games. A pack of calligraphic 10-A royals makes up the low pays, while premiums involve the most notable elements of Asian slots. Those include in ascending order coins, yuanbao, golden Koi fish, one of the Fu Babies, and the God of Wealth, namely Caishen, who is a top star here. Helping you to form winning combos is the Wild symbol, represented by a red doorway. It acts as a substitute for any other regular symbols and also is worth the same as the top-paying symbol.

Matching 3 instances of the same symbol starting from the leftmost reel is required to score a win, and full combos involve 5 symbols on the same payline. You won't benefit too much from landing regular symbol combos for the overall potential lies within its features.
Thus, 5OAK combos of low pays award from 0.4x to 0.8x of the bet, while premiums are worth 2x-10x.Temple of Wealth - Technical Aspects
The math model is a thing that you can always rely on for Play'n Go always make stats close to average. The default RTP is claimed to be at 96.20%, however, since the game comes with ranging RTP values you are more likely to have 94.20%, though, it's still decent when taking into consideration the fact that 1.5% is contributed to the progressive jackpots. Nevertheless, do remember to always check the specs before depositing for you might get either higher or lower payback value depending on where you play. Temple of Wealth is powered by a high volatile math model, so don't expect to be showered in wins.
The actions take place across a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to play, meaning that all adjacent symbols starting from the leftmost reel pay. The bets vary from 0.1$ to 100$ per spin, providing a quite wide betting range that would appeal to both high and low rollers. Moreover, the stake levels influence the chance of triggering the jackpot, so the bigger you play, the greater your chances of hitting a tasty payout are, thus, keep that in mind while adjusting your bets. Oddly enough, the payout potential is also decent since you can hope for a whopping win of 5,000x of the bet excluding the progressive jackpots, which is 500,000$ on a single spin when playing with the max bet option available.
Temple of Wealth - Bonus Features
As alluded to above, you won't find dozens of extras here for it's all about the jackpots. However, besides the central feature, there's a bonus game to enliven the gameplay, which is the key to the success in case you lack some luck to hit a sweet progressive prize.
Temple-Of-WealthThe Yin Yang emblem is the Scatter symbol here, with the help of which the Free Spins feature is triggered.
The general concept of the bonus game is similar to other slots in the range, though, it's the extras that make the difference here. The Scatters can land anywhere on the reels during the base game, and 3 or more in view award access to the Free Spins. The number of spins you get doesn't depend on the number of Scatters you manage to land since it only increases the cash prize, with 3, 4, and 5 bonus symbols awarding 5x, 10x, and 50x of the total bet. Before you plunge into the action, you'll be provided with a Free Spins mode selection, where 6 options are available to choose from.
- 1st option - awards 20 Free Spins and adds 8 Mystery Symbols to the reels.
- 2nd option - awards 15 Free Spins and adds 18 Mystery Symbols to the reels.
- 3rd option - awards 12 Free Spins and adds 28 Mystery Symbols to the reels.
- 4th option - awards 10 Free Spins and adds 38 Mystery Symbols to the reels.
- 5th option - awards 8 Free Spins and adds 48 Mystery Symbols to the reels.
- 6th option - Mystery Pick. Awards a random number of spins up to 20, and Mystery Symbols up to 48.
Mystery Symbols are added to the reels before each spin and expand by one position up or down until they cover the entire reel and eventually fade. All the specials reveal the same instance of a randomly chosen symbol. Unfortunately, retriggers are not available unlike in other 'Wealth' slots for the Scatters do not appear on the grid during the Free Spins.
The Golden Reels feature is the heart of the game, which is the key to triggering the Jackpot feature.
On any spin during the base game up to 5 reels may turn into gold, and if a Wild symbol lands onto one of those reels, you're in luck. You'll then proceed to a mini-game, where a selection of 12 symbols will be provided. Players will reveal the icons until 3 are matched and the respective progressive jackpot is paid. There are 4 of them in total, including Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand, which refer to Chinese mythological beasts, namely the Four Guardians, including the Black Tortoise, the Vermillion Bird, the White Tiger, and the Azure Dragon respectively.

The 200 Spins Experience
Despite the fact that all the slots in the Asian-styled progressive jackpot trio are almost identical in terms of the math model, theme, and bonus features, we decided to test them all to figure out which one is more appealing. Temple of Wealth's siblings had left controversial slots about the series. We had been lucky to hit the jackpot in Beast of Wealth, though, we had never made it to the Free Spins, while Celebration of Wealth on the contrary awarded us a decent Free Spins round and failed to grant us a jackpot. Thus, we had our hopes set really high for this one for we had our fingers crossed to trigger both the bonus game and the Jackpot feature.
To keep things simple and close to reality, we opted for a modest bet of 1$ per spin and enabled the autospins mode. Oddly enough, the first Big Win occurred immediately, to be more precise on the 2nd spin and awarded us 36x of the bet. However, and even though a bunch of dead spins followed, we were extremely lucky to trigger the Jackpot feature and claim a Minor one on the 20th spin.
With a very promising start, the session rapidly turned into a continuous succession of uneventful spins. Looking ahead, it took us approximately 190 spins to trigger the Free Spins, and it felt like a breath of fresh air at first, though, that feeling quickly faded after we couldn't land a single decent win during the 15 spins in the bonus round. It ended up with a total win of 9$, leaving nothing but frustration and significant loss of our bankroll.
Temple-Of-WealthIt's necessary to mention that by the time we were about to end our 200 spins test another Jackpot feature appeared and awarded us another Minor Jackpot, however, it could neither fix our mood nor help us get a surplus. Even though the gameplay of Temple of Wealth appeared to be much more fruitful than its brothers, it failed to be the same rewarding. However, 200 spins are not enough to provide any accurate statistics and it's always limited to a matter of chance, so you'll have undoubtedly a very different outcome.
Temple of Wealth - Verdict
All up, it doesn't matter which title you give your preference to since all three slots provide the same rewards, being a one big jackpot network. Players will chase the same rewards, and the only difference will be the type of the Free Spins feature, where one offers expanding grid, second additional premiums, and this one - mystery symbols. Anyway, let's summarize.
The 'Wealth' slots wouldn't be that appealing unless the included progressive jackpots, adding some thrill to rather simple gameplay. We have to appreciate the developer's effort to make their series appealing to a larger audience by providing a variety to choose from, however, the Asian setting won't definitely win everyone's heart. There are a lot of more exciting games in Play'n Go's portfolio, though, if the jackpots are the main reason why you feel drawn to spin the reels on Temple of Wealth, there are hundreds of other options of what to play on the market.
It's playable though and you won't definitely suffer from the math model, which couldn't benefit any better than this. To conclude, it's a decent slot to choose, and the math model paired is a plus, however, if you are not into a jackpot pursue, you won't find a lot here to get super fired.
